This course is recommended for personnel working in any industry where cranes and lifting equipment are utilized.
SYNOPSIS OF COURSE:
Ths course focuses on crane signaling practices used throughout all related industries.This course
is designed to prepare students for the NCCCO certification and follow NCCCO guidelines..
• Basic crane terminology
• Hazards and safety concerns associated with overhead lifting
• Boom deflection
• Center of gravity and how to compensate for it
• Hand signals per ASME B30.5 and B30.3
• Voice communications
• Pre-lift planning
• OSHA and ASME standards and practices associated with crane signaling
Certifications/Completion Cards Received After Successful Completion:
Certification valid for 5 years, Signalperson ID card.
Requirements:High School diploma or equivalent. Ability to read and speak the English language.
Students must be medically and physically fit to perform hands-on activities.
Work boots (steel-toed preferred), cotton pants and cotton long sleeve shirts.
Note:Must have ability to climb 300 foot towers.
